Operations Manager: Jo Ellen Hess
Jo Ellen Hess, Operations Manager, has a B.S. from Purdue University
in Child Development and Family Living. Her professional life prior
to employment at the FJC was with the State of Indiana, Department of
Workforce Development where she worked directly with clients and employers
providing training, and managing the Unemployment Insurance program in a
four county region. Jo Ellen’s work with the Family Justice Center ensures
that the daily operations are executed so that front line staff are able to
meet clients’ needs.
Protective Order Attorney: Paul Singleton
Paul Singleton graduated with honors from Wake Forest University in 2003. He
was captain of the track team. After graduating from Wake Forest, he taught in
inner-city Baltimore through Teach For America for two years. He graduated from
the Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law at Arizona State University in December
of 2008. He was admitted to practice law in Indiana in May of 2009.
Victim Services Coordinator: Katie Jones
Katie Jones is a longtime resident of Northern Indiana and a graduate of
Wawasee High School. She received her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and
Criminology from Valparaiso University in May 2004. Following graduation, Katie
worked for three years with a middle school mentoring program. Katie attended
the Indiana University School of Social Work at IUPUI and received her Master's in Social
Work in May 2009 as a member of Phi Alpha, the Social Work Honor Society. Katie has been
involved in Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault advocacy and education efforts
for over seven years and describes it as her passion in life.
S-O-S Project Coordinator, Annie Envall
Annie Envall graduated with a BA in Sociology and
Gender Studies from the University of Notre Dame in 2005. She began volunteering
with S-O-S in fall of 2002, did several internships at S-O-S while still in
school and was hired as a Risk Reduction Coordinator in 2006. Since 2008, Annie
has held her current position which is responsible for the daily operations of
S-O-S, training of volunteers, law enforcement, and medical professionals, and
community collaboration and outreach.
